From when we first started translating Hikaru no Go in May 2001 up until later that summer, whenever members from Toriyama's World would play each other in Go on Yahoo, I (Mike) would always be the strongest. Since then, more and more Go players who have been playing Go since long before we started doing Hikaru no Go have been showing up at TW, and I have no chance to hold the title of the strongest TW Go player any more if we had another tournament. Still even with the increasing variation in the strengths of Go playing TW visitors, that doesn't mean we can't all get together and enjoy Go together sometime.

That is why I'm announcing a meeting time of 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (5PM Pacific, 1AM Greenwich Mean Time) every Thursday night in the Beginner Room 2 at Yahoo Games. You can come earlier or later, but the point is to meet other TW visitors and just overall have a good time. Nothing formal, just fun social games, and maybe some instruction and commentary by the stronger players. This is just to spread the love of Go together with people that you share a common interest with- Hikaru no Go manga.
